Sidmouth Folk week - every August.

If you've never been to the Folk Week in Sidmouth, think of it as more like a collection of small festivals taking place in the same spot at the same time, with something for everyone and a very friendly atmosphere.

Sidmouth Folk Week takes place in a variety of venues throughout the town - using nearly every hall in the town as well as building a few more!

Sidmouth streets and the seafront are very much part of the Festival, with impromptu performances from buskers, dance groups and entertainers to entertain you as you wander between the main events.

Sidmouth is a small town of 14,400 on the east Devon coast in south west England about 15 miles south east of Exeter.

It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is on the Jurassic Coast world heritage site and the South West coast path, a long distance footpath that skirts almost all of the coast in the West Country of England.

Sidmouth Esplanade features fine buildings, gentle strolls, stunning views, shops and Hotels.
Sidmouth is the perfect atmosphere in which to relax, take a seafront stroll or a bracing walk on Peak Hill and experience the magnificent panoramic views of sea and shore with Sidmouth spread out below.

For the less energetic there are many gentler walks around the town, parks and gardens and along the seafront linked by a walkway to the western beach at Jacob's Ladder Beach.
